Raashi Khanna’s Slip Of The Tongue On South?

Rather than encouraging the local talent, the South Indian film industry always goes after the North Indian heroines. After getting stardom down the South, these North Indian heroines go back to Bollywood and start speaking badly about the South film industry. Earlier, heroines like Ileana and Taapsee did the same and now, Raashi Khanna joins the list.

Raashi made her film debut with the Hindi flick Madras Cafe. It didn’t give her a boost in Bollywood. Soon, she started doing Telugu films. Down here, she was successful and also became an A-list actress in no time.

Now, Raashi went back to Mumbai and is focusing on the Hindi project. Recently, she was seen alongside Ajay Devgn in the web series Rudra. It was received well. Soon, she will be seen in another web series, which will feature Shahid Kapoor as the lead hero.

Meanwhile, it looks like Raashi is looking down upon South films after getting offers in Bollywood. In a recent interview with the Times of India, she said that people down the South don’t understand the difference between admiring a woman and objectifying her.

In Telugu, Raashi will be next seen in Pakka Commercial. Directed by Maruthi, this film features Gopichand as the lead hero. She also has Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You in the release lineup this year.

She stated that people will label heroines with words like ‘lass’ and ‘milky beauty.’ She further added that she lost many offers because she was way too pretty for the role. She said that in the South, a heroine can be a great actress or a glam doll but not both.
