Talk: Same Writer, Same Story, Same Disaster?

Coming up a new story or at least a fresh screenplay is always needed for a film to become a blockbuster. Either the story should have a novel point, or the screenplay and narrative should be quite gripping, and exciting and audiences should be taken for a twisty ride. Only such films work big time in theatres. Why are we saying this now anyway?

With mass star Raviteja hailing writer Srikanth Vissa as the next level genius at the pre-release event of “Khiladi” movie, this writer got huge attention in Tollywood. Earlier he wrote dialogues for Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s Pushpa movie as well.

However, as a screen writer, Srikanth failed to attract the audience with Khiladi because of the outdated plot and tried-tested Baasha screenplay where the hero will have a double life somewhere.

Though this film failed, it looks like Srikanth got a similar plot executed again, in the form of Sri Vishnu’s Bhala Tandanana.

The same writer writing the same story has now resulted in a similar disaster at the box office. Of course, there are lot of other things that went wrong inside the film directed by Chaitanya Dantuluri, but then, with story being the major culprit surely there is nothing bigger than that to blame about.
