Finally, NDA Breaks Into Jagan’s Fort!

Rayalaseema is no longer looking like an easy political zone for YSRCP. The latest local body election results have given the TDP-led alliance a major boost, with victories in several places that were once considered difficult for the opposition to penetrate.

Kadapa has emerged as the biggest surprise. The NDA has made strong gains across the district, winning key municipalities and securing several wards without a contest. Badvel, Rajampet, Rayachoti and Mydukur have gone the TDP’s way, while the BJP has secured Yerraguntla.

The bigger message comes from Pulivendula. This is the constituency represented by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and has always been treated as the political centre of the YS family. The NDA’s performance here has put a question mark over YSRCP’s grip on its traditional territory.

Kuppam has delivered another headline result. TDP has won all 32 wards in the municipality, leaving YSRCP with no representation. For Chandrababu Naidu, this is a strong result from his own constituency and a clear improvement over the political challenge the party faced there in the past.

What makes these results interesting is the geographical spread of the NDA’s performance. The alliance has made gains not just in one or two pockets but across important parts of Rayalaseema. The combined strength of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP has also played a role in shaping the local election battle.

For Jagan, the results from Kadapa and Pulivendula are particularly significant. Losing ground in areas associated with the YS family makes this more than an ordinary local body election outcome.

Rayalaseema has produced a new political talking point, and the NDA will certainly see these results as a major boost.
