Baahubali & RRR Inspiration: Another Wicket Down?

The impact created by Baahubali and RRR is so big that many star heroes and filmmakers are now looking forward to carving out such gigantic films to woo the audience. Guess what, most of those attempts are getting thwarted at the box office due to poor storytelling and content creation. Here comes another wicket that fell to this ‘inspiration’.

Akshay Kumar’s Prithviraj and Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera, now we have Sudeep’s Vikranth Rona. All these films have one thing in common, which is nothing but an inspiration from visual effects and grand canvas wonders like Baahubali and RRR.

While Akshay and Ranbir’s films already flopped, it is now coming out that even Vikranth Rona is no exception. The film met with below-average reviews today though the visual treat of the film is good. Critics nailed the film for its slow narrative and passable content. Looks like the film is not going to reach the craze that the likes of Baahuabli 2, RRR and KGF met at the box office.

In fact, the one thing that filmmakers and star heroes should understand is that they can’t simply mimic the success of Baahubali and RRR without actually working on the content of their stories.

The dramatic drive and relatable characters in those films have struck a chord with audiences, and these filmmakers need to focus on that first rather than visual effects, grand sets and star studded cast. Let’s see where would Vikranth Rona stands after first weekend.
