Released during the tough times when audiences are showing no interest to come to theatres if films are not appealing, Swapna Dutt’s latest production venture “Sitaramam” has done the unthinkable at the box office.
Hailed as a classy film by both audience and critics, the film has won accolades for its production quality as well. And then, they say that director Hanu Raghavapudi got saved, all thanks to the producer.
When the film “Sitaramam” is in the production pipeline there are various reports that the project has overshot the supposed budget. Though they thought of wrapping the movie in under ₹20 crores, the cost went up to ₹35+ crores as Hanu is said to be shooting at multiple locations even for the minutest scene.
Without thinking about the exceeding costs, Swapna is said to have believed in Hanu’s vision and supported him big time. If it is not for this producer, the movie might have got wrapped in quick time and in limited locations, thus bringing out a pretty ordinary product.
At the same time, Hanu Raghavapudi is going through a lot of negativity for the overspending thing as his previous films like Lie and Padi Padi Leche Manasu are also termed as cost-failure projects. However, Swapna’s belief in him lead to this super success, thus giving much needed relief to the director. Owing to this success, it is being heard that Hanu will now direct another films for Vyjayanthi Movies, though not immediately.
