Not Aparichithudu, But A Trilogy Of Velpari

Star director Shankar got into a few controversies lately. From his Indian 2 controversy to the Aparichuthudu remake right issue, Shankar seems to have settled all of them to move on to his next. Shankar is now busy with RC15 with Ram Charan and Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan. The director was reportedly in plans to make his blockbuster Aparichthudu (Anniyan) in Hindi with Ranveer Singh. But things appear to have changed.

Shankar is heard to be inspired by Mani Ratnam’s PS 1 in two aspects. First is that Shankar now wants to make a film based on the famous Velpari novel just like Mani Ratnam did his Ponniyin Selvan from a noel. And the second one is that he wants to make it a trilogy like Mani Ratnam planned it in two parts. So far, it is almost confirmed that Ranveer Singh will be playing the lead role. It is expected to be the biggest film so far for Shankar and Ranveer Singh.

The novel Velpari is heard to be having everything that makes it a wonderful cinematic adapatation. It has incredible life lessons, a heart-touching love story, and a lot of action adventures giving a big scope to project them into mindblowing visual-effect sequences. The three-part epic will be made in multiple Indian languages with a vast budget.

Shankar will be finishing his RC15 and Indian 2 first to launch this Velpari project with Ranveer Singh. Ranveer Singh also has to finish off his Cirkus with Rohit Shetty, Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra.
