Next Friday : A Feast For Moviegoers

Irrespective of the season, Tollywood usually witnesses multiple releases every Friday. But, this September turned out to be a damp squib for trade circles because a couple of Fridays were wasted due to a lack of notable releases. The main reason behind this fiasco is the unexpected postponement of Prabhas’ much-anticipated film Salaar. Dubbing films and low-budget films that released in the last two weeks couldn’t capitalize on the open ground. This week, Skanda and Peda Kapu-1 are testing their luck.

Meanwhile, a flurry of medium-budget films are gearing up to involve in a box office slugfest on October 6th. As big-ticket films like Bhagavanth Kesari and TNR are releasing during the Dussehra festival, a bunch of films like Mama Mascheendra, Rules Ranjan, Mad, Month of Madhu, 800, etc. are going to offer a feast for audiences next Friday.

Mama Mascheendra grabbed the eyeballs with its intriguing trailer. Sudheer Babu’s triple treat in the trailer impressed everyone and generated decent hype for the film. Kiran Abbavaram’s humour and breezy romance with Neha Shetty created a good buzz on Rules Ranjan. Youthful comedy caper ‘MAD’ which is coming from the stables of notable producer Naga Vamshi is also in the race next Friday.

Besides straight Telugu films, other language movies like 800, a biopic on cricketer Muttaiah Muralidharan, and Nayanatara, Jayam Ravi starrer God are in the fray as well. Bollywood films like Dono, Mission Raniganj and Thank You for Coming are also releasing amidst decent hype.

With more than 10 films from different languages vying at the box office, there will be heavy competition for screens in many territories. While moviegoers will be scratching their heads to choose one out of these many releases, it would be interesting to see which films manage to impress them.
