Opinion: Telugu People Never Lose Interest

The other day, the once successful hero Siddharth from Tamilnadu has turned out emotional while promoting his latest dubbed release “Chinna”, saying that some distributors humiliated him by asking him who would watch Siddharth’s movie now. That led to a discussion as to why Siddharth’s films are not working out in Telugu, and also why he’s getting distanced from industry this way.

“Though top distributors like Uday Stalin bought the film in Tamilnadu and Hombale Films took the Kannada distribution, somehow in Telugu they’ve asked me, ‘Who would watch Siddharth’s film?’. For that reason I didn’t get enough theatres in Telugu states” commented Siddharth, asking the audience to watch his Chinna in theatres, and promised that he wouldn’t come to Telugu if this film fails.

Frankly speaking, any actor will see a downfall and any star will go through a purple patch, but what this means is how they would rise back into the game. Unfortunately, in the last decade, Siddharth hasn’t made any path-breaking films or movies that would create an impact at the box office. But Siddhu says only 3 films were offered to him in the last 10 years, but that is not the problem of the audience, isn’t it?

Previously the Bommarillu hero made tall statements during the release of “Takkar” that the film was going to change the way the audience looked at him, and promised the moviegoers an international range action sequences, and much more. Surprisingly, the film is outrageously boring with a beaten-to-death plot, and that adds more woes to Siddharth’s whatever little market he has in Telugu states. Telugu audiences won’t lose interest in watching good movies whether they come from new actors, Tamil actors or some other industry, but they will lose interest in an actor if he continuously delivers only content that bores them to the core.

Now that Siddarth asked the audience straight if they wanted him to come with movies or not, that’s a different story. Siddharth can come here 100s of times with movies, but the audience will come to theatres only if the content creates interest. Telugu people won’t lose interest in movies, but they would lose interest in movies that lack engaging content. Dot.
