Chiranjeevi’s ‘Re-recording Heroism’ Satire On Rajinikanth?

Rajinikanth-Jailer-Bholaa-Shankar

Megastar Chiranjeevi bagged the biggest disaster in recent times with his Bholaa Shankar. The grand presentation of the songs and the high-octane stylish action sequences could not help it become a success at the box office. Meanwhile, other contemporary heroes in neighboring states have been registering blockbusters with action films just by picking age-appropriate roles and limited action according to the trend. Chiru seems to have thrown a satire at them now.

In a recent media meet, Chiranjeevi expressed his thought of stopping the traditional dances, and fights and getting the heroism elevated just with re-recording so it would earn him money with comfort. Calling it not a possibility for him, Chiranjeevi says that the dances, fights, and physical effort had to be put in originally and then only the producers, directors, audience, and himself would be satisfied.

While he is stressing that everyone including himself won’t be satisfied without his mark dances and fights, the ‘re-recording’ comment appears to be a soft satire against Superstar Rajinikanth and his Jailer. Rajinikanth’s Jailer emerged as a blockbuster with the Superstar appearing in a retired policeman role and limiting himself to very limited fight scenes.

But the Background music by Anirudh poured in the much-needed heroism and elevation to Jailer. Rajinikanth himself mentioned it in the recent successful meeting of Jailer. Many were seen commenting that if Chiru was talking about Jailer, he missed a point.

If the director could make a sensible story and a gripping narrative he also can score a success irrespective of his dances and fights. If he blindly believes in the stories and directors in the name of ‘safe game’ he will be bumping into movies like Acharya and Bholaa Shankar. Coincidentally Chiranjeevi’s Bholaa Shankar and Rajinikanth’s Jailer were released at the same time.

Many of his fans also want Chiru to catch the trend of appearing in age-appropriate roles and entertaining audiences with not just dances and songs. Chiranjeevi is touching the fantasy genre with Mega157 and it has to be seen how he will excite the fans and audiences.
