Leo Lyrics! Telugu Audience Pleading For Tamil Song In Theaters

Gone are those days when the filmmakers put in efforts to make the dubbed version look like an original. For the movies made in Tamil and being dubbed in Telugu, the directors used to take extra care in dubbing dialogues and song lyrics so the essence of the movie is being carried. The dialogues are somehow manageable but the song lyrics these days are troubling the ears.

The most anticipated Vijay’s LEO is gearing up for a big release in Telugu as well. The superstar in Tamil is working towards establishing his market in Telugu with each new release. In the latest update with week before the movie’s release, the makers released the lyrical version of the song ‘Naa Ready’ in Telugu today.

The lyrics are so pathetic that the music by Anirudh is also not helping the audience to digest it. The lyrics go like Pagapatti Tayyarayyi Opponent Madathapetti, Katti Goni Sanchilo Petti, Lorry Lo Thosi’ and so on. Movie buffs and music lovers are asking the makers on social media to directly play Tamil songs in theaters instead of these awful Telugu lyrics.

It is not just the complaint with LEO, but many Tamil movies that were released in Telugu in the last ten years. Tamil musicians like AR Rahman and Ilayaraja took extreme care for lyrics in other languages, but the latest filmmakers and musicians are interested in other aspects of the film but not the dialogues and lyrics. They appear to be not in the mood to spend lakhs on Telugu lyrics and are just managing the lyrics with rhyming and trending words.

Not just the lyrics, the dubbing films these days are not even changing the titles. Recently Ajith’s film Valimai was released with the same titles in Telugu. Also, Rajinikanth’s Petta took the same route. If it is not taking the audience for granted, then what is it?

It is high time that filmmakers should focus on delivering sensible content in dubbing films and there is a need to understand that their cost efficiency is causing a quality deficiency.
