Did Renu Desai Get Enough From This Role?

Returning to the silver screen nearly after 20 years, former heroine Renu Desai who has appeared in movies like Pawan Kalyan’s Badri and Johnny chose to play the role of Hemalatha Lavanam in Raviteja’s “Tiger Nageswara Rao”. She has expected a lot from the film, hoping that her career will get lots of applause and response. But then, it looks like the actress hasn’t got enough of what she expected.

Apparently, Tiger Nageswara Rao’s second half is more boring than expected and the KGF style narrative didn’t suit the biopic of real-life Stuartpuram dacoit. While the film banked on the Robinhood style of the screenplay, the role of Hemalatha Lavanam isn’t etched properly. While Renu Desai got a good 15 minutes in the climax part of the movie, her role is not well defined, and that gave nothing for her to take away. Except for the white saree and spectacles, there is neither punch in the role nor it stands out in the crowds. There is not even one moment for Hemalatha Lavana’s role to shine, and that would surely disappoint the actress who played it.

On the other hand, Renu Desai should have opted for a more defined role to make this comeback as her video interviews to promote the film have much better drama, emotion and definition. Though the actress is not looking at an immediate revival and transformation into that of a character artist as she has directorial ventures coming up, surely she should learn more bit of acting as well to shine in these roles.
