Director Announces Retirement Via Insta, Removes Post

Premam was one of those classics from the Malayalam film industry and the movie also turned out as a super successful one commercially. The director of Premam, Alphonse Puthren directed it in 2015. After directing two more films recently, he announced retirement through a social media post and then removed it later.

Alphonse Puthren posted on his Instagram, ‘ I’m stopping my Cinema Theater Career. I have Autism Spectrum Disorder which I found out yesterday on my own. I don’t want to be a burden to anyone else.

I will continue doing songs and videos and short films and maximum an OTT. I don’t want to quit Cinema, but I have no other option. I don’t want to make promises that I can’t keep. When health is weak and unpredictable life brings a twist like an interval Punch.’

Alphonse Puthren’s most recent film ‘Gold’ with Nayanthara and Prithviraj Sukumar failed to enthrall the audience. He later announced the ‘GIFT’ movie with actors Sandy and Sahana Sarvesh. Alphonse earlier directed a Malayalam film ‘Neram’.
