As Ramayana continues to attract attention and perform well at the box office, an interesting discussion has emerged about the response from the Hindi film industry. Despite being a film based on Indian mythology, mounted on a massive budget and featuring grand visuals, several prominent Bollywood stars have remained silent.
Meanwhile, Tollywood celebrities and filmmakers, including SS Rajamouli, Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan and others, have publicly appreciated the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. Their comments have sparked questions about why Bollywood’s own leading stars are not showing similar enthusiasm.
Interestingly, Salman Khan is among the few Hindi stars who have spoken about Ramayana. He urged people to discuss the film rather than focus only on its budget and visual effects. However, other prominent stars, particularly the Khans and Kapoors, have not publicly commented on the film.
This silence has surprised many, especially considering Ramayana’s scale and cultural significance. The film represents a major attempt to bring Indian mythology to audiences worldwide, making mainstream Hindi celebrity appreciation particularly meaningful. But sadly, that has not happened.
With collections expected to rise further after Diwali, Ramayana is gaining momentum. Whether Bollywood stars will eventually break their silence remains to be seen. For now, the contrast between the enthusiastic response from Tollywood and the relatively quiet reaction from Bollywood has created so many doubts in the minds of many.
