The makers of Rebel Star Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD chose Maha Shivaratri occasion to reveal the character name of the protagonist. Prabhas is introduced as Bairava with this new poster. He appears like a beast in the poster. He sports a tattoo on his hand and wears techno spectacles. It is not a laboratory or workshop, but the holy Kasi from the future.
Bhairava means terribly fearsome form. It is also known as one who destroys fear or one who is beyond fear. In fact, Prabhas’ character is shown as a protector in the title teaser. Through its blend of ancient mythology and a distant futuristic dystopian society, Kalki 2898 AD explores themes of destiny, redemption, and the eternal struggle between light and darkness across the vast expanse of human existence.
Directed by Nag Ashwin under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD is the most expensive Indian film that will have a global release. Co-starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani, the movie will grace the cinemas in summer on May 9th.
Currently, the shoot is happening in Italy.
