RRR: Fictional But Not Patriotic

RRR is a fictional tale set against the backdrop of the pre-Independence era. Director Rajamouli has weaved a fiction story around freedom fighters Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. He made it very clear during the film’s press meet. But, there are a lot of speculations coming on social media about the film’s plot. However, the other day, team RRR issued a clarity on the film’s genre on Twitter.

When a picture surfaced online on the official handle of the RRR movie, a fan wrote, “The image means Alluri Sita Rama Raju and Komaram Bheem together meet and fought for independence.”

RRR team replied to the fan, saying, “They will meet, and of course it’s their hands. But as you mentioned, they do not fight for independence in the movie. #RRR Movie is entirely fictional and not at all a patriotic film.”

Rajamouli always prepares his audiences beforehand to avoid unnecessary disappointment. With the speculations that RRR is a patriotic film, it can only further damage the film. So, the team responded promptly and issued a clarity that there are no patriotic elements in the film.
