Music director Bheems became a sensation in Tollywood by scoring consecutive hits like Balagam, Dhamaka, Mad, Tillu Square, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam and Mad Square. However, he faced criticism for his last outing, Mass Jathara. Many audiences felt that his tunes were repetitive and the BGM lacked any punch.
Now, he has two biggies in hand, and coincidentally, both films are aiming for a Sankranthi release. While one is Megastar Chiranjeevi-starrer Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu (MSG), the other one is Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahashayulaku Wignapthi (BMW). So, he has to do double duty for these films and prove that he is capable of pulling off star-studded movies.
These films are going to be a litmus test for Bheems. Both movies are comedies, which will also have some commercial mass elements as they feature mass heroes. So, Bheems has to balance both mass and class music for these films with respect to both songs and the background score.
Until now, only Meesala Pilla from Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu has been released, and it got a good response from the audience. On the other side, no song has been released from Bhartha Mahashayulaku Wignapthi yet. He has to deliver more chartbuster songs from these two films to generate more buzz, as they face tough competition from The Raja Saab and Anaganaga Oka Raju in the Sankranthi race.
Meanwhile, there are only two months left for the films’ releases, and Bheems has a lot of work to do. It remains to be seen how he handles this dual responsibility and whether he can deliver impressive work that silences the criticism he faced for his previous film.
