Nivetha Pethuraj is one of the talented actors in the tinsel town. She is facing a controversy now for her comments regarding a dog bite. Sunday, the actress participated in a public awareness rally in Chennai where she advocated for the welfare of street dogs.
Talking at the event, the actress shared her opinion that people must not exaggerate a dog’s bite.
“We should not make a big deal out of a dog bite and create fear. Right in front of our eyes, many incidents of cruelty against animals happen, and no one raises their voice against them. It is true that rabies spreading through dog bites is a very serious matter. But instead of using that to spread fear, we should teach people what the actual solution is. Killing street dogs is not the answer. Administering vaccines and sterilisation (ABC – Animal Birth Control) is the only permanent solution,” she said, adding that dog bites is not a serious matter.
However, the comments attracted a new controversy now. Many people started criticizing the actress for the comments she made, especially at a time when a section of society wants to eradicate street dogs completely. Many political parties also reacted to the comments, taking a dig at the actress. The criticism reached the actress, who is quick to react once again.
“Honestly, kudos to all political parties and leaders for dealing with this mob-mentality crowd. Our country isn’t doomed because of anything else but the irresponsible civilians who are the real problem,” wrote the actress.
