Dhanush Misses Golden Chance In Telugu States?

After Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, actor Dhanush and director Aanand L Rai teamed up for the third time for the film “Tere Ishq Mein”. Featuring Kriti Sanon as the female lead, this romantic drama was released yesterday. Thanks to the superhit album and the combination of Dhanush and Rai, this movie took a flying start at the box office.

According to the trade reports, Tere Ishq Mein collected a gross of Rs. 16.06 crore in Hindi and Rs. 68 lakhs in Tamil on its first day. On the whole, the movie earned an all-India gross of around Rs. 18 crores gross and nett of around Rs. 14.7 crores, which is very good considering the current Hindi market. The film has witnessed stunning occupancies across all major cities in India last night.

Even in Hyderabad, Tere Ishq Mein performed well. While Tere Ishq Mein witnessed 50/106 fast-filling/sold-out shows in the city on Friday night, Andhra King had only 46 sold-out/fast-filling shows out of 141 total shows. If at all the film had a simultaneous Telugu release, it would have collected even more. The makers announced the dubbed version “Amara Kavyam” but didn’t release it simultaneously.

Moreover, there is no proper planning for the release or promotion of the Telugu version. As Dhanush enjoys a good market in Telugu, it would be better if he comes here and promotes his film, as there are some sections of the audience in Telugu states who watch this kind of Hindi romantic films, particularly in Hyderabad.

Coming back to the Hindi version, as there are no significant releases in Bollywood this week, Tere Ishq Mein is expected to dominate the box office.
