On the occassion of Prabhas’ birthday, the team of Fauzi released a special glimpse which has now landed in a controversy. The teaser begins with a conversation between Hitler and Subhash Chandra Bose where Bose elevates Prabhas’ character.
Already, the netizens and film activists raised doubts over the authenticity of the situation, triggering a debate. Now, Chandra Kumar Bose, Netaji’s grandnephew, has criticised Hanu Raghavapudi for allegedly distorting historic facts.
Chandra Kumar Bose called out the flaw from the side of the makers, claiming that they ignored the historical accuracy just for the sake of elevating the hero. Chandra Kumar Bose argued that the filmmakers have the freedom to portray India’s freedom struggle but they should not ignore the historical accuracy.
Also, Chandra Kumar Bose particularly spoke about the misrepresentation of Netaji regarding the alleged meeting with Hitler. According to him, the scene diminishes Netaji’s stature. Not stopping there, Chandra Kumar further demanded an apology from Hanu Raghavapudi to Indians for misrepresenting the facts.
In the particular scene, Netaji speaks about one Indian soldier who gives tough time to the British, but there are various sources saying that Netaji has never met Hitler. At the same time, the makers of Fauzi have also not given clarity on whether the film is fictional or based on real-life incidents. At least now, if the makers come forward with their explanation, the film will not further run into more controversies.
Fauzi, bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, is scheduled for a grand release on 19th March.
