Peddi To Face Tough Competition In Hindi Belt?

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan became extremely popular across the country after the striking success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Though his previous film Game Changer tanked heavily at the box office, there is a very strong buzz surrounding his upcoming sports drama Peddi in North India. The film is gearing up for grand release on March 27th. 

Even though Paradise and Peddi are scheduled for March 26 and March 27 releases respectively. However, recent reports suggest that Paradise may shift to another date as a major portion of its shoot is still pending. But for now, there is no official confirmation on the postponement.

Coming to Peddi, the Hindi version is likely to face heavy competition from Bollywood biggies. Though no big-ticket Hindi film will have a head-on clash with Peddi, a few notable releases like Yash’s Toxic(Dubbing), Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4 and Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 are targeting 2026 Eid festival. 

All these three biggies are aiming to hit the screens March 19th, which is a week before the release of Peddi. Yash’s Toxic has massive hype among Hindi audience as KGF 2 emerged as a roaring hit in North India. The fourth installment of successful franchise Dhamaal also carrying an impressive buzz in Bollywood circles. Now, Dhurandhar sequel also joined the race as per the latest reports. 

If any of these films turn out to be a big hit, the openings of Peddi in North India might get impacted. After the first single Chikiri Chikiri turned out to be a rage all over the country, the expectations shot through the roof. Especially, the hype in Hindi circuits is quite positive. So, Eid releases might pose a potential threat to Peddi in North. 

For now, Peddi is undoubtedly one of the highly anticipated films of 2026 in both South India and Bollywood. The presence of Jahnvi Kapoor as female lead and music score by AR Rahman has further created more hype on the film. The range of openings will depend on how the team handles promotions and how well the trailer is received by audience in Hindi.
