Age gap on the screen is always a debatable topic. From the times of Sr NTR to the current times, the male actors are often criticized for romancing heroines half their age. Everyone has their perspective about it. Recently, Karthi also shared his voice in the debate.
Karthi threw a different perspective altogether on the issue. There are a lot of negative opinions doing the rounds, but Karthi’s take is that films can’t be made if things are seen through a real-life age difference lens.
“We actors need to stop making films if we start worrying about the real-life age difference between an actor and an actress in a film. People should see only the characters but should not bother about the age differences,” said Karthi.
Very recently, actor Madhavan said he won’t work with younger heroines from now on, as he said it doesn’t go well with today’s audience, but Karthi says otherwise. Earlier, Salman Khan also asked if Rashmika’s mother does not have a problem with him romancing the actress, why does anyone else have the same?
The age-gap debate has become unavoidable these days because actors are being paired with mismatched age groups, and many of these combinations simply don’t work on screen. When the pairing looks odd, the current generation especially is not liking such outdated casting choices.
Currently, Karthi is busy with the promotions for his next film Annagaru Ostaru.
