Actress Poonam Kaur, who is originally from Punjab but built her film career mainly in Telugu cinema, has made some shocking revelations in a recent interview. Even after film offers slowed down, she chose to continue living in Hyderabad.
Over the years, her name has often been dragged into political discussions due to her sarcastic posts about a few film celebrities. Now, Poonam has spoken openly about the pressure and threats she allegedly faced from political circles.
She revealed that on one occasion, a few people from Kadapa approached and threatened her, demanding that she hold a press meet and speak against a particular actor. According to Poonam, they first tried to lure her with money and later promised her a political position. When she refused both, they allegedly threatened to leak nude videos to force her into compliance. She said she had never spoken about this earlier and kept the trauma to herself, sharing it only with her family.
Poonam also spoke emotionally about the personal damage she claims was caused by former YSRCP leader Posani Krishna Murali. She said his public statements about her deeply affected her personal life. At the time, she was considering marriage, but after the press meet and the controversy that followed, she felt her life took a painful turn. She said she lost a lot on a personal level and was pushed into a situation where she had to quietly endure the consequences, carrying the impact far beyond her professional career.
