Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s younger brother Raghu’s son Maadhav is making his debut with the upcoming flick Maremma. Directed by first-timer Manchala Nagaraj and produced by Mayur Reddy Bandaru under Moksha Arts, Maremma is a rural action drama. The film’s teaser has been dropped today.
The story is set in a remote village in Telangana. A strange sickness descends upon the village, wiping out livestock and villagers alike. Seeking salvation, the people gather at the temple of Maremma Thalli, begging for her divine intervention. The sacred bull, her earthly symbol, is under the care of the protagonist. But one fateful morning, it disappears, shrouding the village in even deeper dread.
Manchala Nagaraj picked the story based on real incidents and tried to narrate it in a grounded yet intense manner. Maadhav delivers a powerful performance, making a strong impression with his rugged looks and authentic acting. Senior actor Vinod Kumar leaves his mark in a pivotal role, while Deepa Balu is effective as Maadhav’s love interest.
Cinematographer Prasanth Ankireddy and music director Prasanth R Vihari work in sync to enhance the narrative. The production values look solid for a film of this scale.
The teaser looks promising and creates a positive impression ahead of the film’s theatrical release.
