Seetha Payanam Is 13 Years Old Idea, But: Arjun

Action King Arjun Sarja is back, this time as director and producer, with Seetha Payanam, a heartfelt drama featuring Niranjan and Aishwarya Arjun in the lead. Produced under the Shri Ram Films International banner, the film is set for release on February 14, and it aims to appeal to audiences across regions.

Arjun says launching Aishwarya in Telugu was a conscious choice. “The industry and the Telugu audience have given me unconditional love. I wanted her first step to be here,” Arjun remarked. He confirmed that the role was initially considered for Vishwak Sen, but the script remained untouched when Niranjan eventually joined. “There are no differences. Life comes full circle. We may collaborate again.”

Describing Seetha Payanam, Arjun said it isn’t limited to romance. “It’s layered with emotions- family, love, responsibility, even patriotism in its own way.” Action elements are present but grounded in the narrative, with Anup Rubens elevating the film’s emotional tone through music.

Arjun revealed that the idea for the film has been with him for 13 years. “I wanted a meaningful story to introduce my daughter. Every character here has purpose and weight,” he said, promising strong performances from both Aishwarya and Niranjan. He also highlighted a unique father–daughter emotion portrayed in the film—one he believes audiences will connect with deeply.

The censor board, he shared, responded with unexpected emotion and cleared the film with a clean U certificate. As for his career, Arjun is leaning more toward direction now, with an upcoming full-on action film on the horizon. He also expressed interest in making Hanuman Junction 2, provided a solid script emerges.

Arjun fondly recalled Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s presence at the pooja ceremony. “He said he’d stay for five minutes but he stayed three hours. His honesty is rare,” Arjun said, calling the moment a memorable one for his family.
