AK64: Ajith Leaning Towards Kanguva Director First?

Not long ago it was reported that Kollywood star Ajith Kumar will reunite with ‘Good Bad Ugly’ director Adhik Ravichandran for his 64th film. Notable Telugu producer Anil Sunkara was supposed to pool money bags for this big-budget entertainer.

However, recent reports suggest that the project has been put on the back burner due to budget issues. Ajith Kumar is said to have quoted an unreasonable remuneration and this development has left the pre production activities in a limbo. Sources revealed that Anil Sunkara finally backed out from this collaboration after several negotiations.

Amid ongoing news that a Tamil producer might take over #AK64, the latest buzz is that Ajith’s most reliable director Sirutai Siva, who already helmed four films with the actor, has joined the race to wield the megaphone for the fifth time with him.

The heady combination of Ajith and Siva delivered back-to-back commercial potboilers in the form of Veeram, Vedalam, Vivekam and Viswavasam. Ajith’s fans liked the way Siva presented their actor in his elements with plenty of whistle-worthy moments in all these four outings.

Given his strong rapport with the director, Ajith is also keen to join forces with Siva again despite the fact that the latter’s most recent offering ‘Kanguva’ tanked heavily at the box office. If Ajith prefers to work with Siva, it will be a big miss for fanboy Adhik. However, it is still unclear who will get the chance.

So, both Adhik Ravichandran and Sirutai Siva are in race to helm Ajith’s much anticipated next film. As there is no formal announcement till now and also nothing concrete came from the actor’s close team, confusion prevails on who will call shots for AK64.
