Ajay Devgn Troubling Cult Films in the Name of Remakes?

Ajay Devgn has often shown interest in remaking cult blockbuster films from other industries, but these projects have also brought unexpected troubles for him. Interestingly, controversies seem to follow many of his remake ventures.

From creative disagreements to legal complaints over adaptation rights, the actor-director has faced repeated issues whenever he attempts to recreate a proven hit in Hindi. The latest dispute surrounding the Hindi remake of Kaithi once again puts Ajay in a tricky situation.

Karthi’s Kaithi is one of the super hit films in Tamil which was later remade into several languages. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has become a big blockbuster. However, there is a controversy surrounding the film’s Hindi remake now.

Titled Bholaa, the film features Ajay Devgn in the lead role and he directed the film. The original production house filed a complaint against Ajay Devgn now and this is not the first time Ajay underwent this situation.

This is not the first time that such things happened with Ajay Devgn. Earlier, his remake of Drishyam also fallen into a similar trouble. Ajay had differences with director Geethu Mohan Das in terms of crafting the remake. It looks like the issues are recurring and most of the times, this is happening with remakes only.

Dream Warrior Pictures which bankrolled the original stated that team Bholaa exceeded the scope of the rights originally granted. The accusation states that the makers of Hindi version made significant changes and potentially breached contractual agreements related to the adaptation.

In their complaint, the makers stated about automatically ending the contract and keep all of the film rights if they didn’t pay the money within 30 days. Team Bholaa is yet to respond to the issue.

Bholaa was released in the year 2023 and there’s a sequel for the same underway.
