Whether it’s making films, writing characters, or attempting bold innovations, Singeetham Srinivasa Rao has always had a unique style. Right from the beginning, he was never interested in making routine films. Now, even at a retirement age, he is turning one of his most beloved stories into a movie. Sing Geetham is a music-driven film backed by the visionary Nag Ashwin.
The recently released teaser received a very positive response. Today, the team unveiled the film’s first song- Hello Bossuu, and unsurprisingly, it carries pure Singeetham’s trademark touch. Devi Sri Prasad steps out of his usual style to deliver a refreshing new tune. Not just that, he also penned the lyrics along with Utthana Bharighat.
Coming to the song itself, the village appears unusually silent, as if no one is around. Wamcee wakes up sometime in the afternoon, wondering if his hangover is messing with him, as every word he tries to speak comes out like a song. Though startled at first, he soon begins to enjoy it. As he walks through the street singing, a young boy joins him and explains, again through song, that the entire village is stuck in the same bizarre situation.
A song this quirky and inventive- only Singeetham can pull that off. Another interesting detail is that Wamcee has sung the song himself, with RP Krishaang joining in toward the end.
Sing Geetham is set for release on June 11.
