All Set For Peddi Premiers!

The stage is set for the premiere shows of Peddi on June 3, with the Andhra Pradesh government reportedly issuing official orders granting permission for special screenings. However, unlike expectations of multiple premiere shows, only one special show is likely to be allowed from 8 PM onwards.

The government has also reportedly approved ticket price hikes for ten days. Single screen theatres can increase ticket prices by Rs.100, while multiplexes have been permitted to add Rs.125 per ticket till June 13.

Now, all eyes are on Telangana. Industry circles are eagerly waiting to see whether the Telangana government approves similar hikes. With recent controversies surrounding ticket pricing, the state government is expected to take a careful decision.

Fans are hoping for quick clarity as celebrations are already being planned. If Telangana does not allow revised pricing, theatres may have to continue with the existing ticket rates.

Trade circles have pinned huge hopes on Peddi, expecting it to revive the struggling box office. Over the past few weeks, dubbed films managed to attract audiences, while many straight Telugu films failed to perform. The industry now sees Peddi as a crucial film that could bring much needed momentum back to theatres.
