Salman Khan as Karna? Not Easy to Beat Prabhas!

A surprising development from Bollywood has caught the attention of movie lovers. Acclaimed filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has reportedly approached Salman Khan to headline his long-delayed mythological epic Karna.

The ambitious project is expected to be produced by Excel Entertainment and is being planned as a two-part cinematic saga. According to industry reports, Salman Khan has responded positively to the proposal, and discussions between the actor and the makers are said to be moving forward.

However, the project is still in the negotiation stage, with no formal agreement signed yet. As with any large-scale production, there remains a possibility that the collaboration may or may not materialize.

If everything falls into place, the makers are targeting a mid-2027 production start, making it one of the most anticipated projects in development. That said, portraying Karna on screen may come with its own set of challenges for Salman.

The character has already generated immense excitement through Prabhas’ appearance in Kalki 2898 AD, where his brief but impactful portrayal of Karna received widespread appreciation from audiences. The bigger challenge could emerge with Kalki 2.

If the sequel fully explores Karna’s journey and showcases Prabhas in an expanded role, comparisons will be inevitable. Salman Khan’s star power is unquestionable, but stepping into a character that has already connected strongly with audiences could make Karna a closely watched project.
