‘Sorry to Disappoint You’, Is Kona Targets Vishwambara?

A few days ago, there was a strong buzz in Film Nagar that Megastar Chiranjeevi had paused the shoot. These rumours were widely circulated and the reason circulated was that Kaaka had very close similarities with Rajinikanth’s blockbuster Baasha.

Especially after nearly 70% of the shoot was completed, rumours had it that Chiru felt there were Baasha shades in it. Reports suggested that Kaaka’s storyline and template were quite similar to Baasha, causing the film to be put on hold.

However, Kaaka’s team has now dismissed these reports as baseless. Writer Kona Venkat took to social media and clarified that the rumours were completely false. He even said sorry to disappoint those who wished the rumours to be true.

Kona once again confirmed that Kaaka is arriving for Sankranthi and will hit theatres on January 13, on the eve of Pongal. He also shared a picture with Megastar Chiranjeevi, putting an end to speculation surrounding the film.

Meanwhile, fresh rumours have started doing the rounds that another Chiranjeevi film, Vishwambhara, is also targeting a similar festive release.

Last month, reports suggested that the Vishwambhara team was trying to convince Chiranjeevi for a Sankranthi release, reportedly due to OTT-related conditions.

Meanwhile, the Kaaka team was said to be firm on its Sankranthi release plans.

With this, questions are being raised whether the earlier Kaaka shoot pause rumours were cooked up. However, there is no confirmation regarding these speculations yet.

On the whole it is very much clear that Kaaka is very much on and arriving for Sankranthi.

Kaaka will be seen as Chiru playing Supervisor Satyam. Directed by Bobby, the film’s cast includes Anaswara Rajan, Nivetha Pethuraj, comedian Sunil with Anurag Kashypa playing a crucial role.
