Rao Bahadur and Naga Bandham are the two notable releases that arrived in theatres this Friday. Released with decent pre release buzz, both films promised fresh cinematic experiences. Interestingly, the opening day response at the box office has been encouraging, with both movies registering decent numbers and getting off to a respectable start.
Despite mixed-to-decent talk, both get decent openings at the box office. Both movies were promoted so well that they created a unique buzz before their release. Because of the solid buzz and promotions, theatre occupancy is reasonable. In this dual box office clash, Naga Bandham had an edge over Rao Bahadur.
Because of its Sanathana Dharma theme, devotional backdrop, and impressive visuals, Naga Bandham generated slightly stronger interest among audiences. At the same time, Rao Bahadur also benefited from the pre release content and buzz created by comments from Satyadev and Venkatesh Maha. As a result, both films have reportedly opened at around Rs 4 crore on day one, with Naga Bandham enjoying a slight edge.
In terms of critical appreciation, both films failed to draw a unanimous positive reception. Word of mouth is moderate, and so the weekend becomes crucial now. There is a minimal trend on booking platforms for both the films, which could improve over Saturday and Sunday.
