SS Rajamouli’s upcoming mythological behemoth ‘Varanasi’ is hands down the most eagerly awaited Indian film of 2027. Starring Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role, this collaboration has been the talk of global cinema ever since it was announced. The first glimpse unveiled last year has further heightened the anticipation on the film.

Now, all eyes are on August 9th which happens to be the birthday of Mahesh Babu. Last year, it turned out to be a rather underwhelming day for his fans as Rajamouli chose to stay silent without unveiling any content on the big day despite high hopes. Instead, the team took its own time and revealed the first glimpse in November.

Fast forward to this year, Mahesh fans are eagerly waiting for a birthday treat this time as the release date is just ten months away. They are hoping that an event film like Varanasi deserves a celebration on their favourite actor’s birthday. The internet is already buzzing with demands for a small teaser or a glimpse of his character Rudra, to mark the special occasion.

To avoid the backlash of the previous year, Rajamouli shouldn’t maintain the same silence again this year on August 9th. Moreover, the team has not create any noise got quite a while after the release of glimpse. Given the scale of the project and the ambitious box targets, Varanasi needs bigger hype with an aggressive promotional campaign.

While Rajamouli has the reputation for taking his time to perfect his craft and also known for choosing the perfect occasion to kick off his promotions, a small treat for the fans on birthday would definitely set the stage for the box office storm that Varanasi promises to be.

This massive time-travel and mythological action-adventure is officially scheduled for a grand theatrical release on April 7, 2027. It has Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in pivotal roles.
