Monday Hold To Decide Akhil’s Real Box Office Pull?

Akhil Akkineni finally has a reason to smile as Lenin has opened on a promising note at the box office. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the rural drama has posted encouraging collections and is steadily moving towards hit status.

The film had to work for Akhil, who was under immense pressure after failing to score a commercial success with his earlier films. If Lenin maintains a strong hold during the weekdays, it has every chance of emerging as his first hit.

Not only has the film impressed the masses, but it has also grossed around 30 crore, according to trade reports. As per early estimates, Lenin is expected to gross over 45 crore in its first weekend, thanks to the genre factor and Akhil’s pull.

However, Akhil’s pull at the box office will be tested as Lenin needs to pass the Monday test. In recent times, several films have enjoyed decent runs during their first weekends but faltered on their first Monday. Lenin is yet to breach the break-even mark, and for it to make profits, its weekday occupancy and collections need to remain strong.

The makers are also planning some post-release promotions to keep the film in the news. Bhagyashri Borse played the female lead in Lenin, which also featured Sivaji in a key role. Murali Kishor directed the film, which was Produced by Nagarjuna and co-produced by Naga Vamsi.

All eyes are now on the Monday test to determine how much Akhil’s pull and content will affect the film’s collection and test Lenin at the box office.
