Watch: No Negative Vibe Between Suriya & Mamitha Roles

Venky Atluri has opened up about Vishwanath And Sons and the thought process behind the film in an insightful conversation with Gulte Pro’s Ram Venkat Srikar ahead of its August 14 release.

One of the key topics discussed was the age difference between the lead characters played by Suriya and Mamitha Baiju. Venky Atluri said he consciously avoided presenting their relationship with a negative vibe.

“Age difference is often shown as either comedy or an affair. I didn’t want that negative vibe in my film, Vishwanath And Sons,” Venky Atluri explained.

He further clarified that Mamitha’s character has admiration rather than obsession, while Suriya’s character remains responsible towards her. The filmmaker wanted to handle their relationship with maturity and respect.

Venky Atluri also spoke about his approach to character writing, stressing that every character should have a clear purpose. He believes consistency in character behaviour is more important than taking convenient turns for the sake of the story.

The director revealed that he also focused on small moments and subtle character traits to create emotional depth. His aim was to make Vishwanath And Sons a hopeful and clean family entertainer without relying on conventional romantic tropes.

With Suriya’s disciplined approach and the team’s collaborative efforts, Venky Atluri is confident about the emotional connect of Vishwanath And Sons. The film is set to hit theatres on August 14.
