Divyendu Failed, Will Raghav Pass The Tollywood Test?

Bollywood actors doing crucial roles in Tollywood movies has become quite common, with filmmakers looking to bring fresh faces and talent from different industries. However, making a strong impression on the Tollywood audience is not always easy.

Happening Hindi actors Divyendu and Raghav Juyal are the latest names to enter Tollywood with two star-studded films, Ram Charan’s Peddi and Nani’s The Paradise, respectively. Divyendu came into Peddi with good expectations. Known for his performances in Hindi films and web series like Mirzapur, there was curiosity around his Telugu debut. However, his role in Peddi failed to create the expected impact and he could not leave a strong mark on the Telugu audience.

Now, the focus shifts to Raghav Juyal. The Kill fame actor is making his Tollywood debut with The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani. Raghav has already created a buzz with his performances in Hindi cinema, especially after Kill. In fact, Nani also stated that he was a fan of Raghav’s performance in Kill and his contribution for his role in the film.

The big question now is whether Raghav can impress the Tollywood audience with The Paradise. A lot depends on the role written for him. In Peddi, director Buchi Babu Sana allegedly did not give Divyendu a very powerful role, which limited his scope to make an impact.

It remains to be seen whether Srikanth Odela has created a stronger and more impactful character for Raghav Juyal in The Paradise. If the role has enough scope, Raghav could have a better chance of connecting with Telugu audiences. For now, the expectations are high on Raghav. Will he pass the Tollywood test with The Paradise? The answer will be known in couple of days as the film hits theatres next week, Sep 24.
