Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons (VAS) is getting good bookings in the domestic market, but the overseas numbers still need big push. Touted to be a family drama laced with strong emotions, the film now needs strong word of mouth upon its overseas premieres to make a big impact, especially in North America.
As per reports, the USA premiere advance sales have shown a good jump on the final day. The film has recorded USD 137,000 from 265 locations, 693 shows and 7,830 tickets. The total North America premiere advance sales have reached around USD 170,000, with the film now heading towards a USD 300,000+ premiere.
However, considering the film’s subject and the kind of family-oriented content that usually connects well with NRIs, the overseas bookings could have been better at this stage.
The real test for VAS will begin after the premieres. If the film gets positive reviews and strong public talk, the movie has a good chance of picking up in North America and other overseas markets.
A strong talk can help the film attract more family audiences over the weekend. This is especially important for overseas films, where initial bookings may not always tell the full run of a film.
For now, all eyes are on the VAS’s premieres talk and audience response. If VAS gets positive talk, the overseas market can see a strong jump.
