IMAX in Hyderabad To Have Regular Prices Only?

Telangana Government had released a G.O. clarifying the minimum and maximum prices for movie tickets in all types of theaters in the state.

The Prices look the same, with the maximum prices being 300 Rupees per seat in Multiplexes and Special Theaters (single-screen theaters with high investments in projection and Sound). But then, there is one word that needs to be taken into consideration.

The Government had indirectly clarified that the prices will remain the same for IMAX and Large Screens of 75 Feet and above.

Mahesh Babu, Venkatesh, and Rana Daggubati, in association with Asian Group, are coming up with a Multiplex in RTC X Roads which will have Hyderabad’s Only Imax Screen.

Everywhere in the country, IMAX is priced at a premium, but it appears like there will be no special pricing in Hyderabad.

Premium Formats need far higher investment than the regular multiplex. The investment is easily 8-13 times and so, the tickets are priced at a Premium.

When Dolby Cinema was started in Allu Cinemas, everyone thought it would have special pricing but they have gone for normal pricing.

Looks like Imax may take the same route!

Also, RTC X Roads is a Price-Sensitive Market and so, higher prices may not be feasible after the initial hype dies. So, this may be a good idea too!

Keeping all this analysis aside, the promotors can always lobby with the Government just before the launch. That is also a possibility.

But hoping Hyderabadis will get to enjoy the Premium format in pocket-friendly prices!
