Malayalam blockbuster Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is all set for theatrical release in Telugu and Tamil on September 4. However, the catch is that it would become a nearly 15-day gap from its original Malayalam release.
Already many Telugu audiences started watching the original Malayalam version in theatres. Amidst this, whether the Telugu dubbed version that’s releasing on Sep 4 can create the same magic after such a gap of two weeks?
According to reports, a big production house in Tollywood had initially stopped the Bethlehem Kudumba’s Telugu release plans, as they wanted to remake the film in Telugu.
However, after watching the film, they reportedly felt its sensibilities would not match the Telugu audience if remade and eventually dropped the remake idea.
With this, the makers of BKU are now going ahead with the dubbed release plan in Telugu and Tamil, on Sep 4.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit revolves around a young woman, played by Mamitha Baiju, who moves to a new town with her family. There, she meets a single man, played by Nivin Pauly, in his mid-30s. Nivin and Mamitha’s on-screen relationship forms the basic premise of the film, with the story exploring love, marriage, family reactions and the circumstances behind Justin remaining unmarried at his age.
The film is a breezy family entertainer that offers plenty of genuine fun. It may not be as wholesome as Premalu, but the film manages to keep a smile on the audience’s face through most of its runtime.
Now, the September 4 release will reveal whether the dubbed version of BKU can bring the same response and recreate the Malayalam success despite arriving nearly 15 days later.
