Happy Journey is a unique travel-based film, directed by first-timer Abhiramm Naidu and produced by Balaji Gutta and Koushik Reddy under the banners of Gutta Productions and Kamalakar Film Corporation. A holiday with strangers can be exciting, unpredictable, and sometimes chaotic. Happy Journey takes that familiar idea and gives it an interesting twist by bringing seven women from different walks of life together for a trip across Europe.
The trailer opens on a humorous note, with Annapurnamma asking the tourist guide about serving alcohol during their flight to Europe, where she travels with six other women. What initially appears to be a carefree vacation soon turns into an entertaining clash of contrasting personalities. Each woman has her own way of looking at life, leading to amusing disagreements and comic situations before they gradually develop a strong bond.
The film’s biggest attraction is arguably its unusual combination of characters. Director Abhiram Naidu chose a light-hearted treatment while keeping the emotional relationships at the centre. The lead cast gets ample space to establish their individual characters, and the performances appear natural and engaging. Amani, Anchor Jhansi, Payal Radhakrishna, Jinisha Alishetty, Roopaa Srinivas, and Sunaina are the other central characters.
Manikandan Subramaniyan’s camera work captures the European landscapes beautifully, giving the film a vibrant travel-film feel. Shekar Chandra’s music enhances both the fun and emotional portions.
Happy Journey looks like an entertaining blend of travel, friendship, comedy, and a world of emotions. The film is gearing up for its theatrical release on September 18.
