In Search Of Tamil Gold, Telugu Diamond Is Being Ignored?

Summer Holidays is one of the recent Telugu releases. The film was supposed to hit the screens last month. However, because of Adarsha Kutumbam, it was released this week. Still, the film received a decent response from audiences, with many praising it for its nostalgic vibes.

However, the team is not happy with the film’s response so far. In a press interaction today, the makers shared their disappointment that audiences are not turning upto theatres.

Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni promoted the film well and ensured it got the right attention before release. However, footfalls have been low, as audiences are showing interest in Ramayanam and Scene this weekend.

According to the team, audiences are showing interest in other-language films but not Telugu films. The irony is that both Ramayanam and Scene are dubbed movies.

Rohan, who played one of the leads in the film, said, “Like the saying goes: In search of gold, we lost diamonds. Our audiences are also losing and celebrating diamonds like Summer Holidays while searching for Gold in Tamil and Malayalam films.”

Rohan says those who watched the film are sharing good reviews, but only a few are actually watching it. Producer Dheeraj Mogilineni shared a similar view.

“I have been getting a lot of messages that they heard the film is doing well, but most of them are not watching it. A lot of people are writing on social media that they are hearing good reports about the film. But it does nothing for me or my film. You must watch the film in theatres and appreciate us. Our film is for families, and it will give a wholesome experience. There is no use when you watch the film on OTT and share tweets about. Come and watch the film in theatres,” he said.
