Mad Rush On This Weekend, Next One Is Free

If more than two films release on a weekend, each one of them has to feel a dent in their collections. From the last few weeks, it has become common for a Friday to see a mad rush at the box office, while the next one or the other is left free without any prominent release at all.

The reason for this mad rush might be the fear of missing out on the long weekend or a festive holiday advantage, but it is sure putting some film collections at risk. Bellamkonda Ganesh Swathimuthyam suffered losses due to the same reason though the movie garnered good talk.

This weekend too had seen the same scene repeated. Ori Devuda, Sardar, Prince, and Ginna movies were released this Friday splitting the advance bookings between them while Hollywood’s Black Adam also made business on par or beyond all these films surprisingly. The winner among these films will be revealed in a day or two, but the last weekend of October is left open.

Only one movie ‘Anukoni Prayanam’ of Rajendra Prasad and Narasimharajulu announced the outing. The movie is all about the emotional journey of two friends during the pandemic. Many trade analysts opine that balancing the weekends with proper timing in releases is healthier than targeting on the season.

For now, the last week of October is not having any other releases except Anukoni Prayanam, while the November 4th weekend is again going to witness a flood of films.
