People in coastal areas have not forgotten the disaster caused by Cyclone Montha and the weather department has alerted the disaster management officials of an impending damage from another cyclone likely to form on November 22 in the Bay of Bengal.
A depression is likely to form in the south-east Bay of Bengal on Thursaday, which is likely to strengthen into a cyclone travelling in the West-Northwest direction in the next 48 hours. Weather experts said that the depression would turn into a cyclone in the Southwest Bay of Bengal. The depression is moving in the southwest direction of Bay of Bengal.
Under the impact of the depression, Prakasam, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati districts are likely to receive moderate rain on Thursday. Light to moderate rain is likely to be received in Krishna, Bapatla, Prakasam Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Chittoor and Tirupati districts on Friday, the Disaster Management Department said.
The Amaravati weather department officials said that several areas in the state are likely to receive light to moderate showers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On next Tuesday, heavy rain is expected to be experienced in a few areas.
