Sobhita Brings Heat To Sankranthi

Sobhita has built her career the slow, steady way. She first caught real attention as Tara Khanna in Made in Heaven, and then kept that momentum going with The Night Manager. Along the way, she didn’t stick to just one lane. Big Hindi projects ran parallel to solid work in the south, especially with the Ponniyin Selvan films. That mix of intense drama and mainstream cinema has worked in her favour, giving her a career that feels carefully chosen rather than rushed.

At Annapurna Studios’ 50th anniversary celebrations during Sankranti 2026, Sobhita showed up in a look that felt rooted and personal. The red saree, simple bun, gajra, and light jewellery gave off a quiet newlywed glow without trying too hard. She was seen alongside Naga Chaitanya, serving food to guests and spending time with family, including Nagarjuna and Amala Akkineni. The moments felt unfiltered and warm, the kind that stick because they don’t feel staged. Fans noticed that ease instantly.

Work-wise, she’s starting the year on a very different note. Cheekatilo, her upcoming Telugu crime thriller, drops on Amazon Prime Video on January 23, 2026. This time, she plays Sandhya, a true-crime podcaster digging into a string of disturbing murders in Hyderabad. It’s darker, grittier, and far removed from her usual polished roles. Directed by Sharan Kopishetty and backed by Suresh Productions, the series feels like a return to the kind of storytelling where performance really leads the way.
