Salman Khan’s Movie Renamed After Chinese Media Backlash?

Bollywood star Salman Khan has made a surprising change to the title of his upcoming war drama. The film, which was earlier called Battle of Galwan, will now be released with a new title, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The announcement was made by Salman himself on social media along with a brand-new poster of the film.

The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is inspired by the real-life 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops along the border. The story focuses on the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the tense confrontation.

Interestingly, the title change comes just days after controversy erupted over the film’s earlier name. The film, based on the 2020 Galwan conflict between Indian and Chinese forces, drew criticism from Chinese state backed media, which claimed it “distorts facts” and fuels anti-China sentiment. Reports suggest the makers changed the title to avoid confusion and political sensitivity around the subject.

The new title also reflects a broader patriotic theme and carries the message May War Rest in Peace. The film also features Chitrangda Singh in a key role and is one of the most anticipated Bollywood releases this year.
