Telugu NRIs Leading the Toxic Trend Overseas

Yash’s highly anticipated action drama Toxic is showing encouraging signs in North America ahead of its premiere on June 25. With 15 days still left for premieres, the film has already collected $47,000 from 114 locations.

From the bookings opened for 378 shows, over 2,000 tickets were sold in advance sales. This is a much better start compared to the film’s initially planned release date. Interestingly, the Telugu version is leading the bookings, once again proving the strong support Telugu audiences extend to pan-Indian biggies.

If you observe, Telugu NRIs have consistently been the biggest contributors to Indian cinema collections in North America, and that has been proved with films like Dhurandhar. Toxic is now benefiting from that trend, and the excitement surrounding Yash is particularly high after the phenomenal success of the KGF franchise, which established a massive fan base for him.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film features an impressive cast including Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria. Another major attraction is Yash’s role, as he will reportedly be seen in three different shades.

With solid buzz, a star-studded cast, and strong overseas interest, Toxic is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases of the year. If the film opens to good word of mouth, it will automatically affect the India openings as well. All eyes are now on how the advance sales grow in the coming days.
