We are already aware that Dhanush’s Jagame Thanthiram opted for a direct OTT release instead of going for a theatrical run. Streaming giant Netflix has bought the digital rights of this movie. Now, the makers have officially announced the world premiere date of this movie.
Jagame Thanthiram will have its world premiere on June 18 on Netflix. It will be available in both Tamil and Telugu languages. There is no update on whether it will be available in other languages too. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, this gangster-comedy features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the female lead. Y Not Studios has bankrolled this project.
On the flip side, Dhanush’s recent release Karnan is also gearing up for the OTT release. The movie had hit the screens on April 9th and received a unanimous positive talk from both critics as well as the audience. The streaming rights of this movie were bagged by Amazon Prime Video. An official update about its digital release will be out soon. We are hearing that it may premiere on May 7. Karnan was directed by Mari Selvaraj and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
