For those who don’t already know, the United States president Donald Trump is named in a sexual assault case which has been under the court of law for the last few years. Finally, the verdict on this case has been made public and it is bad news for Trump.
Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan ordered that writer E. Jean Carroll must immediately receive the $5 million from Trump in connection with the s*xual assault case. This is in tune with an earlier word delivered by a Manhattan jury which awarded her $5M in damages from Trump back in May 2023
This is after that jury found Trump liable for s*xually assaulting her in a department store in the 1990s AND for defaming her by calling her allegations a hoax and a lie.
Trump has deposited this money at the court, and the total came to around $5.8 million, which includes the interest and other miscellaneous charges, apart from the $5 million fine for the original assault case.
This roughly converts around ₹55 crore in Indian currency, which is a pretty significant number. The fact that the United States president is facing sexual assault case and is still holding the office is a blatant blow to the political system in the first place.
