Canada’s Deportation Drive: Indians Top The Removal List

Canada has deported 3,323 Indian nationals in the first six months of 2026, making Indians the largest group among those removed from the country.

The deportations are mainly linked to visa violations, expired study or work permits, rejected asylum claims and other immigration issues.

The rise comes as Canada is tightening immigration rules and increasing checks on international students and temporary workers. Indian students and workers have been advised to keep their documents valid and strictly follow visa conditions.
