Narasapuram MP and YCP rebel leader Raghu Ramakrishna Raju fumed at Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for destroying aided colleges to ‘dead’ colleges. There are nearly 1,972 aided schools and 150 aided colleges in the state.
The state government has informed the aided institutions that it would stop giving the aid to them and asked the managements to hand over the premises to the government. There are several institutions, having reputation of imparting of quality education and transforming students into responsible citizens and successful individuals. Unfortunately, all these institutes are getting closed only because of the government’s ulterior motives, RRR said.
He said that Jagan was doing ‘Sthala Yagnam’ and destroying the bright future of students in the state while his father did ‘Jala Yagnam’ for the welfare of farmers.
He faulted Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of following dual standards in every aspect. “On one hand, the CM says that it is the responsibility of the government to impart quality education to the students and on the other, good schools are being closed,” he pointed out.
He lamented that Andhra Loyola College in Guntur, VR College in Nellore, Children’s Montessori School in Guntur were being closed permanently. Take the ANR College for instance, today you are closing down the institution. Tomorrow, would you build a shopping complex on the land, he asked.
Did you ever think of the future of the students, he questioned.
In case, you want to continue to the run the institution, there would be thousands problems regarding regularisation of teachers in those institutions.
“If children are not really joining the aided schools, then leave the schools to the kin of those who contributed the land towards the schools. They might construct old age homes or hospitals in the same place or do something. Why should the government encroach the lands donated by some generous people, he asked.
During campaigning before the elections, Jagan said that he would implement prohibition. After coming to power, he changed the liquor policy and made even teachers sell liquor in the name of some ‘dakota’ brands. He also extended the timing of sales in the liquor shops. Now, is Jagan really interested in prohibition, he wondered.
The MP advised the CM to stop playing the double game and be committed to what he says and promises.
