KCR Puts Launch Of BRS on Hold?

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had been breathing fire at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his ‘misgovernance’ and even declared that he would launch a national party to unite the anti-BJP forces.

In the last few days, there were news reports that he would soon launch his political outfit as he was determined to pull down Modi’s government at the Centre but now, he seems to have shelved the project at least temporarily.

There was informal talk that he would name the political outfit as Bharata Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and that he would make a declaration about the same by the end of June.

However, there is talk that KCR backed off from his project in view of the political developments at the national level. In fact, KCR’s national party raked up interest both in the state and at the Centre.

There had been widespread speculation about KCR’s party since he hinted about the same. It is learnt that the Telangana CM is likely to take a step further in this direction only after the Presidential polls, scheduled after three weeks.

There is information that KCR deferred his plans to launch the national party and utilize the next three weeks do more work on the political outfit.

This apart, KCR also gave assurance to NCP chief Sharad Pawar about extending support to the opposition parties’ candidate in the Presidential elections. He has to discuss about the same with his party leaders and take a final decision.

It is learnt that Rao is holding deliberations with experts in various fields, retired IAS and IPS officers, apart from economists regarding the launch of his national party. Recently, he held a meeting with the economists at the party office, Pragathi Bhavan.

He is also learnt to be holding meetings with the media giants of the national media. The discussions with experts in various fields are likely to continue till the second week of July.
